Create a Windows bootable USB drive
Go to the Microsoft Website:
- Open your web browser and go to the Windows 11 download page .
Download the Tool:
- Click on the "Download tool now" button under the "Create Windows 11 installation media" section.
Run the Media Creation Tool
Open the Tool:
- Once the download is complete, run the Media Creation Tool executable file (
MediaCreationTool21H2.exe
for Windows 10, for example).
- Once the download is complete, run the Media Creation Tool executable file (
Accept the License Terms:
- Read the license terms and click "Accept" to continue.
Step 3: Choose the Installation Media
Select Create Installation Media:
- On the "What do you want to do?" page, select "Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) for another PC" and click "Next".
Select Language, Edition, and Architecture:
- You can use the recommended options for your PC.
Click "Next" when you're ready. tep 4: Choose USB Flash Drive
Select USB Flash Drive:
- Choose "USB flash drive" on the "Choose which media to use" page and click "Next".

- Insert a USB flash drive with at least 8 GB of space into your PC.

- The tool will display a list of available USB drives. Select your USB drive from the list and click "Next".

Step 5: Download and Create Media
Download Windows:
- The Media Creation Tool will download the necessary Windows files. This might take some time depending on your internet connection speed.
- Once the download is complete, the tool will create the bootable USB drive. Wait for the process to finish.
- When the process is complete, you will see a message saying "Your USB flash drive is ready". Click "Finish" to exit the tool.

Step 6: Boot from the USB Drive
Restart Your PC:
- Insert the bootable USB drive into the PC you want to install or repair Windows on and restart the computer
- Download Rufus: Download the Rufus executable file from its official website; it's a portable application and doesn't require installation.
- Download Windows 11 ISO: Download the Windows 11 ISO file from the Microsoft website.
- Launch Rufus: Open the Rufus application.
- Select USB Drive: From the "Device" dropdown, select your USB drive.
- Select ISO File: Click "Select" next to "Boot selection" and choose the Windows 11 ISO file you downloaded.
- Configure Settings:
- Partition Scheme: Choose "GPT" for modern UEFI systems or "MBR" for older BIOS systems.
- File System: Ensure the file system is set to NTFS.

- Start Creation: Click the "Start" button.
- Confirm Data Loss: Grant permission to delete all data on the USB drive when prompted.
- Finish: Wait for the process to complete, indicated by a "ready" message.

Select the USB Drive:
- Select the USB drive from the Boot Menu options to boot from it.
Install or Repair Windows:
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install or repair Windows.
Step 7: Installing Windows
- The setup will load and follow the steps on screen.
- Choose "Custom: Install Windows only (advanced)".
- The next screen will show your hard drive space. Here we need to remove every entry starting with "Drive 0". Delete the entries one by one.
- When the screen is empty or all Drive 0 partitions are removed you can press Next and Windows will start to install. Mitthavicky IT
